Membership
Who can join
Membership is open to all Fannie Mae employees, their immediate family
including domestic partners, and Fannie Mae retirees.
How to join
To become a member, you must complete a membership application in order to
open a share account and deposit a minimum of $60, either by check or through
a payroll deduction. There is no fee to join, and there are no dues. Once you
are a member, you can be a member for life as long as you maintain $60 in
your share account. Applications are available online (.pdf), as well as from our Washington, D.C. office, and from our regional office representatives. If you would like
to have an application mailed to you, contact us at (202)752-6662, or send an
e-mail message to Jean Oates.
Important information about procedures
for opening a new account
To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering
activities, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain,
verify, and
record all information that identifies each person who opens an account.
When new members open an
account, or when you add new signatures to an existing account, we will ask
for their name, address, date of birth, and other
information that will allow us to identify them. We may also ask to see their
driver's license or other identifying documents.
